Facility Committee Update
Next Meeting Scheduled for May 3

On April 9, 2007 the Meridian CUSD #223 Long Range Planning and Facility Committee met to review the input from the three community meetings held in March and to continue working toward a final facility recommendation to the Meridian School Board.
The committee summarized the feedback from the community meetings as being generally very favorable to the preliminary recommendation (click here for preliminary recommendation).
The committee also reviewed an updated cost sheet for the contents of the preliminary recommendation (click here for preliminary construction costs). The committee also discussed the component of the performing arts auditorium and the actual increase in property tax to include it. The committee also discussed the possible total tax rate increase to fund all parts of the construction project.
The committee is scheduled to meet next on May 3, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Stillman Valley High School.
