School Board Adds Extra-Curriculars
Drama added to MJH/SVHS; Golf to SVHS

At its regularly scheduled June 14, 2007 meeting, the Meridian CUSD #223 School Board approved the addition of drama and golf for extra-curricular activities to begin with the 2007-2008 school year. Drama will be implemented at Meridian Junior High and Stillman Valley High School. Golf will be available at Stillman Valley High School. For the past several years, the Meridian Arts Parents have sponsored drama plays at both buildings. The Meridian School District will now assume the role of sponsoring the drama events. The Meridian Arts Parents have also generously offered a financial contribution to get both the high school and junior high school programs firmly established. Activities Director, Steve Stewart, recommended the addition of these activities in response to interest surveys and the district’s increased enrollment.
