Next Dance - 8th Grade Dance
The following dates have been selected for
dance/rec night dates at Meridian Jr. High:
Sat. May 22nd 8th Grade ONLY Dance
A dance will be held in the multi-purpose room at SVHS for eligible 8th Graders. This will be a banquet style event with pizza, pasta, and chicken strips being served. There is not need to make other dinner plans. This event is for Meridian Jr. High 8th graders only. NO out of school guests will be allowed. Teachers and staff will be supervising. Attire is semi-formal, not prom-like. Boys usually wear dress pants, a dress shirt with or without a tie, or a polo shirt. Girls usually wear dresses, skirts, capris, or dress pants and shirts. Girl's dresses MUST cover the chest area appropriately. If necessary, a sweater or shawl should be worn.
Students must arrive by 6:45 pm or they will not be allowed to enter. Students will not be released from the dance until 9:00 pm. If a parent needs a child early, he/she may personally speak to Mr. Davidson that evening. No student will be excused early because of needing a ride with another parent without prior permission.
There is no cost for the dance. This event is paid for by the MJHS Student Council. There will be no formal photography at the dance. Students may bring their own cameras. Parents are allowed to attend from 8:45 - 9:00 pm.
In order to be eligible to attend the dance, students must be in good academic and behavior standing. Good academic standing means passing all classes for the entire year, not just the quarter. Good behavior standing means a student cannot be suspended the Friday before and the Monday after the weekend of the dance.
Only MJHS students may attend.
Students must meet the ‘Earn It’ Criteria in order to attend
during the 2 week time prior to the dance date.
Student Council sponsors these dances from 7 – 9 p.m. on the designated evening.
