Blackhawk Power League
This league was formed to promote youth volleyball and to introduce young athletes to the game at a low stress, instructional level.. It is open to 10 year olds through 15 year olds and begins the first week of January 2012. There will be 4-5 tournament dates available, depending on age bracket, and they will all be held at the Blackhawk Center in Oregon, IL. The season will end April 1st.
Practices will be held on Sundays at SVHS with times to be determined to HS events.(probably in afternoon and evening) Mike Peterson, SVHS Varsity coach will coordinate the league and supervise the coaches. If you are interested in coaching, contact Mike at alxadm@yahoo.com or at 815.703.3810.
Cost will be $250 per player, based on 8 players per team. This cost will include a team uniform, tournament entry fees, practice time, and coaching pay. Every player is also required to register with USA volleyball. This can be done online and the fee is $50. Membership is good for one year.
There will be an informational meeting in the main gym at SVHS on Sunday September 25 at 4 pm. Thank you and hope to see you on the 25th.
