Report to assist in facility planning
March 30, 2009
At its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, March 19, 2009, the Meridian School Board reviewed a recent updated report regarding the District's student enrollment projections. The initial study was provided in August of 2006 by the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Rockford. In 2006, the District's K-12 enrollment was projected to reach just over 2,800 in 2020 (current enrollment is around 1,950). The February 2009 updated study projects the District's enrollment to reach just shy of 2,400 in 2020. Although the rate of increase is not as dramatic as the one forecast in 2006, the District continues to expect increased enrollment. The District will evaluate the projected increases and begin making facility plans to accommodate student enrollment Additional information regarding the Meridian CUSD #223 Demographic and Student Enrollment Projections by clicking link below.
