Board Approves Administrative Procedures for Extracurricular Drug Testing

At its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, October 22, the Meridian School Board approved administrative procedures for drug/steroid testing. The procedures are designed to support the Board's desire to establish policies and procedures that promote student safety, which is a component of the District's Long Range Vision. The administrative procedures require 5% of extracurricular participants to be randomly tested during each of the fall, winter and spring seasons. 1% are to be tested for steroids. Below are the administrative procedures which are currently on display.
