Board Hosts Community Meeting on District's Finances
Approximately 100 community members attend

On Tuesday, April 13 the Meridian School Board hosted a community meeting at Stillman Valley High School for the purpose of presenting the District's current financial situation and the potential impact that the state's current financial difficulties might have on the School District for this year and next. Approximately 100 community members attended and were presented with information regarding the District's finances and projections based on decreased funding for future years. Below is a summary of the Board's objectives of the presentation:
Take a first step to inform our community of the District's current financial situation and the potential impact of the State's FY 2011 budget and beyond.
Communicate the Board's approach to working through the challenge for FY 2011 and for FY 2012, if necessary.
For the community to know that the Board believes it is important to engage the community and this meeting is a step in continuous dialogue.
Begin the process to solicit feedback and comments from the community.
In order to continue to receive feedback and answer questions the Board will appreciate community members using the feedback option available in this article.
