Board Recognizes 2009-2010 SVHS IMEA All-State Music Students
Four students earn prestigious award

At its regularly scheduled board meeting on April 22, 2010, the Meridian School Board recognized four Stillman Valley High School music students who earned the designation as 2009-2010 Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) All-State. Students earning All-State recognition are:
Anna Ellis (flute)
Jake Henert (tuba)
Patrick Jagielski (alto saxophone)
Dan Raymond (chorus)
The selection process for All-State is extensive and requires students to audition against students from all Illinois high schools, regardless of enrollment. Meridian CUSD #223 School Board President, Ron Steenken presented each student with a certificate reflecting the Board’s acknowledgement of their high level of performance. Mr. Steenken also thanked the parents for their support and encouragement.
