Self Defense Class Offered at SVHS

August 5 - 9am - 12:00 pm

R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) Program
The R.A.D. program is a self-defense program originally designed 
by police officer, Larry Nadeau, for females ages 11 and up.

This program incorporates the teaching of viable techniques that can be used in the event of an attack against an acquaintance or a stranger. The program is designed to be a 9 hour course without simulations at the end and a 12 hour course with simulations at the end. This class, however will be a 3 hour course, which will teach specific techniques in the event of an attack. It is open to all daughters, moms, and friends.

The schedule for classes is as follows:

Thursday, August 5th 

SVHS Multi-Purpose Room 

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.


This program is an extremely beneficial one no matter the age of the participant. The participant will learned some very valuable skills in defending themselves. It is also a very effective training program for offering self-defense options especially for high school and college age females.  If you are new to self-defense, it is encouraged you to come and learn more about protecting yourself!


The instructor, Angie (Patzner) Codron has been a R.A.D. instructor for over 5 years and has taught more than 20 classes in that time period. Anyone who decides to participate in the R.A.D. sponsored self-defense class must fill out the following attached paperwork and return by the next class.

1. Read, fill-out, and sign the 2010 Self Defense Registration Form. Be sure to have your parent or guardian sign the “Parent Consent” portion if participant is under the age of 18.


2. Read, fill-out, and sign the Release Form.


Mothers and female family members above age 11…if you decide that you would like to take part in this program with your daughter, make sure you fill out the required paperwork as well. This can be an even more valuable experience when it becomes a family one.
