Holiday Hope Chest
Helping Keep Our Students Warm with Outside Clothing & Christmas Gifts
The Meridian School District Counselors, local Churches and organizations have partnered together to provide assistance in keeping District children warm this year by donating winter wear. The donated items will be new or gently used. Starting this year, the program will now be implementing an every-other year basis for coats, snow pants and boots. If you ask for assistance in 2017, you will be eligible again to ask for assistance in 2019 for coats, snow pants and boots. Please keep this in mind when filling out the form for your children. There are exceptions, i.e. growth spurts, etc. and these will be looked at by District School Counselors.
If you are interested in receiving assistance, please click on the attachment below, print and fill out the form. If you are unable to print the form, there will be forms in the school counseling office for your student to pick up and take home. Please return to the School Counseling office by Friday, November 10th. If you are unable to print the form, there will be forms in the school counseling office for your student to pick up and take home. All requests for assistance will be kept confidential.
In previous years we have helped provide Christmas gifts. This year, families will need to sign up online for Christmas gifts through Ogle County Toys for Tots. Families will pick up toys in Mt. Morris at the Moose Lodge on Wednesday, December 20th from 8am-8pm. We will not have toy pick-up at the Stillman Valley Fire Department. Registration for Ogle County Toys for Tots opens on November 1st and closes on November 30, 2017. Children ages newborn through 18 (still in High School) are eligible to receive gifts.
