5Essentials Survey for Parents
Please Complete By December 1st
Dear MCUSD 223 Parent,
Teachers, parents, and students across Illinois have an opportunity to have their voice heard regarding school climate through participation in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey was designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.
Participating in this survey will take approximately 10 minutes and will provide the district with valuable data we can leverage to improve our schools. In order to receive the data, 10 percent of MCUSD parents must complete the survey. In the past we have failed to reach this benchmark and thereby have missed out on the value the data could potentially bring us. Please take the time to take this survey.
The Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago, on behalf of the Illinois School Board of Education. This survey identifies five indicators that can lead to important student outcomes, including improved attendance and larger test score gains. The five indicators that impact school success are:
Research has shown that schools strong on these indicators, the `` 5Essentials” are 10 times more likely to improve student learning. Your participation in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
Please complete the Illinois 5Essentials Survey by December 1st. To access the survey please click on the link on the link: https://survey.5-essentials.
