Kenny Lamer to be named Meridian Director of Buildings and Grounds

At the Thursday, September 5th Meridian Board of Education meeting Kenny Lamer is expected to be approved to serve as the next Director of Buildings and Grounds for Meridian CUSD 223. MCUSD was incredibly impressed with the high caliber of number of candidates for position.  Even with the incredibly high quality of the candidate pool, the interview team concluded that Mr. Lamer would be a perfect fit to help move the district forward.

Kenny Lamer is a community staple and a respected leader, coach, and mentor in the Meridian Community. Kenny has been married for 19 years to his wife Jaime and they have two boys. Both Austin and Tyler graduated from Stillman Valley and are now attending college. Kenny’s professional career is highlighted by opening and operating Showtime Installations for the past 20+ years. Showtime installs CCTV and communications and serves many local agencies and organizations. Kenny and his family moved to Davis Junction in 2005 looking for a slower pace of life and immediately knew the Meridian community is where they wanted to raise their kids.  Kenny began working for the Village of Davis Junction in 2012 where he had worked until this new chapter of his life began.

Superintendent PJ Caposey said that finding the right person to follow Bryan Vandiver was a tall task noting that Bryan left large shoes to fill. Caposey noted, “It added an element of pressure to this hiring process until we were able to meet and get to know Kenny. I believe we hit a home-run bringing Kenny into our organization. He is community-minded, dependable, and has a demonstrated track record of doing excellent work. I cannot wait to see where he takes our Buildings and Grounds Department.”
