2018-19 MJHS 8th Grade News
End of Year Info
Class of 2023!
The end of the 2018-2019 school year is quickly approaching. This letter is to provide you with some additional information regarding the 8th Grade Celebration Day on Thursday, May 30th, 2019.
The 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 30th at 5:30 p.m. at SVHS.
Seating is limited, so we encourage only parents and grandparents to attend.
In order to be eligible to participate in the ceremony, your student must be in good academic standing. Good academic standing means that he or she must be passing all classes. Any misbehavior that results in a major referral to the office can lead to a student being omitted from the ceremony. This will be at the discretion of Mrs. Davis. Students must be in attendance for the entire day in order to attend.
A dinner and dance will be held for the 8th grade students immediately following the ceremony from 6:30-8:30 at MJHS. The wonderful MJHS PTO is sponsoring this event at no cost to the students.
This is a casual attire event. Students are encouraged to wear nice clothing such as khakis, polos, dress shirts, skirts, capris or a casual dress. School dress code applies. If you are unsure of your dress, please show Mrs. Davis a picture!
If you have any questions, please call the MJHS office.

The following link will take you to our school's solar panel website.
Once you are there, click on the orange link above the picture that says, "Show Solar Data". This will take you to real-time data for the energy that our panel is generating. There is data dating all the way back to October when our panel was initially installed, even though they just got the website going. It is pretty neat to look at the weekly and monthly tabs, keeping in mind the weather changes we have had on a seasonal and daily basis.
PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) Reminders: Students can only use cell phones and wear hats after school hours. Also, gum can only be chewed outside of school not in the building. This is a reminder to keep in mind the dress code. Shorts must be finger tip length and tops must must have cap sleeves on the shoulder. If you have any questions about the PBIS reminders, please contact a teacher.
