Here is some of the Information that we have shared for the Fuel Up to 60 Program:

Meridian Jr. High School is taking the lead for student health by participating in a nationwide wellness initiative. Community-focused and fun, Fuel Up to Play 60 is activating schools and communities to support school wellness initiatives, good nutrition and physical activity, which help educate students and curb obesity. In partnership with the National Dairy Council (NDC) and the National Football League (NFL), Meridian Jr. High School and its students are recruiting friends, parents, teachers and business and community leaders to join them in pledging to adopt healthier behaviors, such as choosing foods encouraged by the United States Department of Agriculture, which has also joined the initiative, and committing to 60 minutes of physical activity every day.

Meridian Jr. High introduced Fuel Up to Play 60 on Friday, September 19th during PE classes. In one week, students have accumulated over 100,000 points, which is #15 in Illinois. Congrats MJHS students! Join us and keep logging your activity and food choices!

“Our school is in a unique position to influence the eating and physical activity habits of students,” says Heather Alderks. “We encourage community-wide support to help our students build positive, lifelong habits, and Fuel Up to Play 60 provides the healthy messages and resources to get started.”

When setting up a student account, please use your student network login (3 letters of first name 4 letters of last name and graduation year) as your user name and your password can be your student id number.  It will be easier for the MJHS representative to monitor and assist the student accounts.
