Practices will be after school Monday-Thursday.  Typically there will be no practice on Friday’s unless we are making up for missed days due to rain or to prepare for the conference meet.   Some days when the weather is bad, practice might be canceled.   

Indoor practice time   2:30-4:00

Indoor practice times are based off of weather conditions sometimes the decision is made and the weather changes we do our best to keep the athletes updated but sometimes they do not know until 2:20.  We apologize for any miscommunication, as it is not our intention.

Outdoor practice times   2:30-4:20

Outdoor practice includes walking up to the high school.  Students are to bring all materials with them to go home.  The junior high is not always open after practice to get materials.  If it starts to rain while we are at the high school practice will be moved inside or cut short and students will be moved inside for pick-up.  Typically students should be picked up in the back of the high school at the track.  Please try to be on time to pick up your student or make arrangements for them to ride home with someone else.   Students should bring warm clothing to be prepared for cooler weather.


Students are required to ride the bus to all meets.  Transportation is also provided back to the junior high after all meets.  There is no set return time each meet is different.   You may drive your child home from a meet.  They are required to be signed out before leaving the meet.  If your student is going to ride home with another student they must have a note that states who they are riding home with and it needs to be signed by a parent/guardian.  If they do not have a note they will not be allowed to ride home with another parent they will ride the bus back to the junior high for pick up there.  Students are considered done when all their events have been completed. 


The girls & boys will be using red t-shirts as jerseys during the track meets.  Also wear black shorts.


Schedules will be given out as soon as they are finalized.

*Girls’ will run first, Boys’ will do field events first.  100/110 M. hurdles are usually ran at the beginning of the meet both boys and girls. (subject to change, depends where event takes place)

Track meet info: 

We will do our best to get each individual in an event.  In Track, the 8th graders compete separately while 7th and 6th grade compete together.  We are also limited to the number of participants in each event (2 per event) for some meets.  Due to the high number of student/athletes involved in MJHS Track we might not be able to get everyone entered.   

Remember students need to be signed out if they are riding home with a parent if they are riding home with another person they need a note signed a parent and dated.  Also bring warm clothes when the sun goes down it gets a lot cooler out.
