Cold & Flu Season Is Upon Us! If your student is diagnosed with illnesses such as influenza A, influenza B, or strep throat, please relay this information to your school nurse or school secretary when calling the absence to the school. The Health Services Department will be keeping track of illness trends and taking the proper precautions to help keep everyone healthy! For more information about the flu and how to prevent the spread of it, please visit https://www.cdc.gov/flu/keyfacts.htm With this season, please remind your students to wash their hands and cover their coughs and sneezes to help everyone stay well! If your student is experiencing a fever at or above 100.0ᵒF, vomiting, or diarrhea, they should be kept home from school. They can return to school after being free of the above symptoms for 24 hours. If your student is diagnosed with strep throat, in addition to being fever- free for 24 hours, 24 hours must have passed since your student has begun taking an antibiotic, as prescribed by your physician.
