Meridian CUSD #223 Board of Education Fills Current Vacancy
The Meridian CUSD 223 School Board has voted to appoint Kristine Phil Youman to fill the current vacancy on the Board. The oath of office will be administered to Mrs. Youman at a special Board meeting on Thursday, November 9th, 2023, and her term will run until the next scheduled consolidated election in April 2025. The Board previously established qualifications for the open position and received applications from seven interested community members. After all applicants were interviewed in a careful and thoughtful manner, the Board concluded that Kristine best fit those qualifications. Having previously served as a ten year Board member for Meridian, Kristine brings a clear understanding of the demands and expectations of the role and function of the Board of Education. Her previous experience as Vice President, and serving on the Finance, Policy, Building and Grounds, Strategic Planning and Emergency Response committees makes her uniquely qualified to fill the open position.
