3rd-grade families at Monroe Center had an exciting morning with their students during DEAL (drop everything and lead) time. Students shared their leadership skills and introduced their families to their DEAL groups for a great time together. 4th and 5th graders will be coming home with invites for their special days in the upcoming weeks. Monroe Center had teachers winning prizes for the class with the most growth in reading and math, students winning for the most growth from the beginning of the year in reading and math, and a surprise performance from our 4th and 5th grade choir. Our Meridian 223 Choirs have had a successful first semester! We have:
- Visited and performed in honor choirs at Illinois Wesleyan University & Illinois State University
- Auditioned for and participated in the ILMEA District 8 Junior and Senior Honor Choirs
- Visited all of our district schools and the community to perform for the holiday season
- Recorded for a T.V. special at the Coronado Performing Arts Center
- Prepared and performed two awesome 6-12 choir concerts!
We wish everyone a joyful holiday season and can't wait for what's to come next semester!






Our SVHS junior class is raffling off a trip to Nashville, Tennessee! One winner will win a 3-night stay at the Tempo by Hilton hotel in downtown Nashville and $500 in spending cash or flight credit. Please see any member of the junior class to purchase a ticket. Funds will go towards Prom 2025!

Great collaboration celebrating the season through music and talents of our choirs from MC (4th&5th grade), MJH, and SVHS under the direction of Ms. Risner, Mrs. Zern, and our student director, Evan Stahl. Solos and carols at every grade level were enjoyed by many. #WeAreMCUSD





Congratulations to our 7th grade boys basketball team for finishing 2nd in the Route 72 Conference Tournament! Also, congratulations to our 8th grade boys basketball team for their 3rd place finish in the Conference Tournament! Way to go, Cardinals!!
