If you’ve been to any Junior High games or meets, you’ve probably seen Sarah working the scoreboard! 🏀⚽️ After 9 wonderful years as an 8th-grade paraprofessional, Sarah is taking on an exciting new adventure this school year as a 6th-grade Special Education Teacher here at Meridian Junior High School!

📚 Meet the Teacher & Supply Drop-Off
Our doors will open at 4:00 p.m. today for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade to meet their teachers and drop off school supplies.
🧸 Preschool Open House
Preschool families are invited to our Open House on Thursday, August 20, from 5:00–5:30 p.m.
🚌 First Day of School
Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 19. The school day begins at our regular time of 7:55 a.m., and student drop-off will begin at 7:30 a.m.

Excellent group of parents, educators, board members, municipalities, and students came together and spent their weekend strategic planning for the district. We examined strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the district to identify what the next steps for #223 will be. Thank you to everyone who participated and for continuing the conversation.

Fifth graders just wrapped up their ocean unit and turned their entire hallway into an aquarium with all their writing, research, and creativity in the writing process. Well done 5th graders! Looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us next!
Family game night was a hit at Monroe Center this week. Families and staff family came together to enjoy all different kinds of board games along with an ice cream social, and of course we wrapped up the evening with a trivia game. Thank you to all of those that helped in the planning and preparation, those who donated for the delicious treats, and of course to all the families who attended!
Mr. Jaxon was an incredible Principal for the Day! He worked with Mrs. Simpson, Officer Aaron, students, and many staff. He helped with supervision, took notes throughout the day, and did rounds with Mrs. Simpson and Officer Kingham. Luckily, he gave great feedback regarding the staff and students during our wrap up meeting at the end of the day. Thank you to the Elementary PTO for this wonderful opportunity. It was an honor to work with this young man all day!
