Congratulations to our Monroe Center students who have made it to the Million Word Wall! Josephine is guiding the way with over 1,000,000 words, motivating us all. William and Samuel are not far behind, having read over 500,000 words. While Regan, Kyla, Evelyn, Keegan, Luna, Reid, and Owen have each made significant strides by reading over 250,000 words. Their dedication and progress are truly inspiring!




Our annual flu shot clinic hosted with the Ogle County Health Department will be Tuesday, Sept. 23rd from 2:30-4:30pm at Meridian Junior High School. It is open to all Meridian 223 staff, students (with parents present), and community members! No need to sign up or fill out forms beforehand - just walk in!

Our MJHS Cross Country team traveled to Pecatonica on Saturday and had a record-breaking day. All 9 of our runners who were able to make the meet set a new PR (personal record). Our girls' team took 1st place overall, and Avery S. finished in first place with an easy lead of 23 seconds. Kaydin H. came in 4th place. Logan L. led our boys' team with a 6th place finish. Great job and congratulations to all of our runners!

Fourth and fifth graders from Monroe Center Grade School were able to experience AG Awareness Day 🌽🚜🐄🐑🥩💦🌻out at the Ogle County Fairgrounds with Ogle-Carroll Ag in the Classroom. This past Friday, students were able to have opportunities to see and learn how agriculture across our state and our country impact our lives. Thank you so much to Ogle-Carroll Ag in the Classroom teams for all you do in our schools for our students and outside our four walls.

With 4th and 5th grades away on a field trip, several staff members (Judy, Maria, Barbara, Danny, and Sofia) were able to join Mr. Johnson's 3I PE. What a fun way to engage concepts of movement, communication, and non-locomotor skills. How many people remember this from their childhood?




We are loving as students continue to share their reading nooks and forts with us at MC. Looking forward to seeing where staff reads next week. Today we have Peyton and John sharing their cozy reading spaces!
